Like a classical move at this time of year, I wanted to recap of 2016 for me, personally. And prepare myself to 2017.

Looking your past is a good thing if you try to get your lessons from the past. But more important one is making wishes real for the future. We need to write our wishes down first to make them real. If we adjust famous quote “I hear, and I forget; I see, and I remember; I do, and I understand.” to I hear, and I forget; I see, and I remember; I write, and I never forget., it wouldn’t be wrong. So, I tried to take a look at the back and create my wishes using data for 2016. By this way, it should be more realistic.

Statistics for 2016

Wow. That was a challenging year for me. As I changed my living country at the end of 2015. I was trying to adopt new life and make friends in Germany in 2016. A detailed overview of living in Germany will follow in next weeks. But as a recap, in December 2015, I started working in Costa Digital Unit as a Software Developer. I was working on the backend with Node.js and learned a lot of things in there. But wanted to return my focus on iOS with learning new programming language, Swift, and changed my job in the middle of the year. I’m currently working at Jimdo as an iOS Developer.

I hope I can manage to do all in this year. Some of them going to be challenging, though.

  • At least one book every month (already have a reading list)
  • Go to gym or swimming more
  • No smoking at all
  • No alcohol for some periods
  • Meditate at least 10 mins daily
  • Write more blog posts, articles
  • Collaborate open source projects more
  • Create new open source projects
  • Join more conferences (already bought ticket for 2)
  • Give a talk in a meetup or a conference
  • Learn German language more
  • New programming language

I want to keep myself away from the computer more and interact with people in real life.

Post your wishes here or as a separate blog post. But write them down and make all them real! Happy 2017 to everyone! 🎉
